Our clients in the historic neighborhood of Squirrel Hill loved their home but felt disconnected from their kitchen. The existing space was dated, with a cramped layout that made cooking and entertaining difficult. The finishes lacked the warmth and modern aesthetic the homeowners desired, failing to reflect their personal style. They came to us with a clear goal: to create a bright, open, and highly functional kitchen that blended natural, organic elements with a clean, modern design.
We started by addressing the functional challenges. By re-configuring the main work triangle and introducing a central island, we dramatically improved the kitchen's workflow, creating distinct zones for cooking, prep, and socializing.
The foundation of the new design is the custom-built Amish cabinetry. We chose this option for its unparalleled craftsmanship, durability, and the natural warmth of the wood. The simple, clean lines of the cabinets provide a modern feel that perfectly complements the organic theme.
To add texture and a unique focal point, we selected a handcrafted Rosemary Fireclay tile for the backsplash.
