Pittsburgh Powder Room & Laundry Renovation with Vintage Charm
The Challenge & The Vision
For this remodel in Lawrenceville, our client wanted to create a classic, cohesive look for their powder room and the adjoining laundry area. The goal was to make these functional spaces feel intentional and full of character, rather than just utilitarian afterthoughts.
To achieve this, we did a few key things. First, we established a strong visual connection between the two rooms by laying a bold, checkerboard floor with black and white marble tiles. This became the foundation of the design. The client wanted to incorporate vintage elements, so for the powder room, we paired an antique-style wooden vanity and mirror with a traditional pedestal sink. We selected warm brass for the faucet and the wall sconce to add a touch of warmth.
In the laundry room, we continued that same material palette. We installed a deep, wall-mounted utility sink with exposed brass plumbing that mirrors the fixtures in the bathroom. By keeping the walls in both spaces a crisp, simple white, we allowed the dramatic flooring and the specific details of the fixtures and furniture to really stand out. Check out the rest of the house!
